English bridles are designed for the very specific needs of the style of riding most associated with our Olympic equestrian sports like Show Jumping, Dressage and Eventing. 

Historically, the Olympic equestrian divisions were created to show off the skills of equestrian athletes and their partners among military horses and fox hunters. Dressage, a French term most commonly translated as training, can provide the foundation for all of the other things we do with horses.
